Cheng Yong

  A member of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a leading talent recognized by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, a high-level outstanding talent at the Central University for Nationalities, director of the university’s research platform, and a Beijing Science and Technology Rising Star. She has studied and worked successively at Lanzhou University, Peking University, and the National Institutes of Health in the United States. In 2016, she returned to China as an overseas high-level talent. Currently, she concurrently serves as a director of the Chinese Physiological Society, a director of the China Association of Ethnic Medicine, and an associate editor of internationally renowned SCI journals. In recent years, she has focused on clinical translational research on diseases—especially psychological and brain disorders—and has led her team to establish multiple clinical research bases and collaborative laboratories in regions including Guangdong, Hunan, Qinghai, and Tibet. She has published over 90 SCI papers with a total impact factor exceeding 500 points, including more than 10 papers as corresponding author in Nature sub-journals and JAMA sub-journals (two of which have impact factors above 25). Her SCI papers have been cited over 3,500 times, with an H-index of 31, and two of her corresponding-author papers have been selected as Highly Cited Papers in the ESI. She has presided over numerous vertical and horizontal research projects, including projects under the National Natural Science Foundation and key programs of the Military Commission’s Science and Technology Commission, with total funding exceeding 10 million yuan. Her research achievements have been honored with the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Award, and the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Award of the China Medical Education Association. She has been granted five Chinese invention patents and one international PCT patent. She has conducted multiple field investigations and free medical consultations in high-altitude, cold regions such as Ali, Tibet, and received gratitude from the leaders of the Ali Administrative Office.
